Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are the proud parents of a baby boy.
The 24-year-old actress made the big announcement via Twitter that she had given birth to her first child, a baby boy that she named Luca Cruz Comrie, on Tuesday.
“Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie!” it was announced via tweet. “Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy. We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!! Mom and baby are both doing extremely well.”
Duff announced “baby makes three” on her one-year wedding anniversary in August. She announced she was expecting a boy on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in October.
"It's just girls in my family so I'm not sure what I'm going to do with a little boy, but it's exciting," Duff said, according to The Huffington Post. "I think deep down inside I kind of wanted a little boy."
As for the name Luca, Hilary assured she wasn’t going to go the strange baby name route.
"We have one that's very traditional and one that's more unique, and when the baby comes out, we'll decide then," Duff had said. "It's not a fruit or a veggie," she had joked.
This is the first child for Hilary and her husband of one year, recently retired hockey player Mike Comrie.
