Amidst their pending divorce, Jennie Garth says that she was “resistant” to divorcing her soon to be ex-husband, Peter Facinelli.

The Beverly Hills 90210 actress and the Twilight actor announced the end of their 10-year marriage two weeks ago. The 39-year-old actress tells People magazine, “I was very resistant. I didn't want it to happen. It took me some time to come to peace with it."

The interview explains that what once looked like a “storybook marriage” slowly began to unravel. Once being able to spend time together, this slowly disintegrated after Facinelli’s career took off with his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in Twilight and his appearances on HBO’s Nurse Jackie.

Garth admits that “it took a real toll on our marriage." She also admits that seeing her husband be intimate with other women on screen also paid a toll on their marriage. “There was jealousy over having to see your husband on screen with another woman," she says. "It wasn't always easy."

Despite their decision to divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, the two have agreed to shared custody of their three daughters, Luca, 14, Lola, 9 and Fiona, 5. The girls, as well as Jennie, can be seen in her new reality show on CMT Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country.
