Justin Bieber feels a 'responsibility to be the greatest' he can be

Bieber opens up about his strong work ethic and inspirational devotion to his career

As the cover boy of the April issue of Complex, Justin Bieber revealed what keeps him working so hard and the sacrifices he has to make in order to stay on top. The teen sensation also disclosed details about his upcoming album and highly anticipated single "Boyfriend".

When first laying eyes on Justin Bieber’s photo spread in the issue, all I could think was ‘ouch’! Bruised and bloody, the pretty boy poses as a badly beaten up boxer. Amazingly, the singer manages to still look attractive in dress pants and a bow tie.

The photos imitate reality in the sense that this young star refuses to go down without a fight when it comes to his music. The heartthrob works hard to make sure that he does everything in his power to be number one.

“I feel like it’s my responsibility to be the greatest I can be,” he stated.

“People just need to take a chance and listen," he added regarding his upcoming album. "If they don’t want to take a chance, then I don’t know. That’s going to be the biggest problem: to make them feel like it’s cool for them to like my music.”

Bieber also told the magazine that this album will be different from what fans are used to. Mike Posner, Usher, and Drake are among the featured artists on his third studio album. Bieber made it clear that the collection of tracks will mostly be hip-hop and rap.

Critics may poke fun at the 18-year-old, but they can’t deny that he has incredible work ethic.

“When I release something, I want it to be the best,” Bieber told Complex. “When I release my fragrance, I want it to be the #1 fragrance—I don’t want it to be the ninth-best-selling fragrance. My Christmas album went double-platinum worldwide. Christmas albums don’t do that, and that still wasn’t good enough for me.”

The pop star’s incredible drive does have its downfalls. When you are as famous as Bieber and are logging long hours in the studio, on tour, and at charity events, your personal life takes a hit.

“I give up a personal life. I give up my friends and family to pursue what I love and to make my fans happy,” he explained.

His determination is inspiring but hopefully his relationship with girlfriend Selena Gomez can withstand his demanding schedule.
