Reports and photos confirm that Michelle Williams and Jason Segel are dating

Actors Michelle Williams, 31, and Jason Segel, 32, are officially a couple, based on photos and reports published this week.

The relationship was made public when Us Weekly magazine published photos of the two holding hands, going on a romantic stroll in Brooklyn, NY on March 24. They dined at Frankie's Spuntino and a witness said that, “He put his arm around her and made her laugh as they walked...[They] seemed very relaxed.”

On March 25, Segel was seen hanging out with Williams’ 6-year-old daughter, Matilda, from her relationship with the late Heath Ledger.

A source confirmed to the magazine that “They are smitten and very serious.”

According to People, the couple were also spotted in Los Angeles on March 16, having dinner at Comme Ça.

Earlier this month, Segel sent a cryptic tweet that hinted at a possible relationship, notes Access Hollywood. “If I fell in love would you guys be happy?” the tweet, which has since been removed.

The two stars have reportedly been friends for years. They met thanks to Busy Philipps, who is a friend of Williams and starred with Segel in the Freaks and Geeks television series.

"I don't want to have a girlfriend for the sake of having a girlfriend. I have no desire to pick a random girl. I want the right girl. There are plenty of opportunities, but I would rather have the right one,” Segel recently told Parade when asked how he could still be single.

Williams recently starred in My Week With Marliyn, which earned her a third Oscar nomination.

Segel stars on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother and also starred in and co-wrote The Muppets. He is currently starring in Jeff, Who Lives At Home.
