“We have been working on this for years. We still are trying to make a song together, Katy Perry and I. She is one of my favorite musicians, as well as one of my favorite people in the industry," Rihanna told Access Hollywood.

“The song will probably come out in a while. I won’t say that it’s happening right now, but it’s going to happen," she continued.

Perry and Rihanna are known to be close friends. Rihanna even planned Perry's bachelorette party before she married her ex-husband, Russell Brand.

Fans have been anticipating this collaboration for a while now, since there was rumors that Rihanna's album Loud would be featuring Perry. Perry however did not appear on any track.

The two are currently working on breaking into the movie business. Rihanna will be making her big-screen debut in the upcoming film, Battleship, reports The Huffington Post.

Perry has also done some acting recently, guest starring in FOX's comedy, Raising Hope. She may also star in a biopic of Britain's Got Talent winner, Paul Potts, as Harvey Weinstein has shown interest in working with the singer.

Rihanna has most recently collaborated with Chris Brown on her song "Birthday Cake" and his track "Turn Up the Music." There are also rumors circulating that the pair are once again dating, sparking a lot of controversy after an incident of domestic violence between the two.

Perry will release Teenage Dream:The Complete Confection on March 26. The album will include her newest single, "Part of Me."
