Long-time Hollywood couple Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli, who decided to take some time apart last July, have called it quits — and there are rumors of infidelity.

Though the statement released by the couple seemed positive, stating, “While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children,” a source at Scallywag and Vagabond revealed shocking details on the split.

According to said source, “Peter had been seeing another woman for quite sometime. They tried to make it work for the sake of their children and Jennie played housewife for as long as she could but finally had enough.” The Twilight star and Beverly Hills, 90210 actress have three daughters: Luca, Lola, and Fiona.

“Jennie knew. As a lot of couples do, they simply grew apart,” the source continued. “As the mother of his children, Peter still loves Jennie very much and vice versa.”

In the summer of 2011, the couple found separate living quarters, with Jennie remaining at home and Peter leasing a place in Santa Ynez, reported RadarOnline. Though they were said to be working on their relationship, it appears that a third party could partially be to blame.

Scallywag and Vagabond also managed to find out a bit on the woman, identifying her as a Canadian woman in her late 20s who met Facinelli in Vancouver while he filmed Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

In their joint statement, the couple ended with a request: “We remain dedicated to raising out beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time.”
