Beyonce and Tina Knowles say fake pregnancy rumors were ‘crazy’ and ‘ridiculous’

It didn’t take too long for the rumor mill to go into overdrive after Beyonce, 30, announced at the MTV Video Music Awards last summer that she and Jay-Z were expecting their first child together.

After the announcement and all the way up until her daughter’s birth on January 7, the singer was the subject of surrogacy rumors, fake baby bump rumors, which started after an Australian interview where her baby bump appeared to fold under her, as well as rumors she caused problems at the New York hospital where she gave birth.

In a new interview with People Magazine, Beyonce says she wasn’t hurt by the rumors, but she thought the things that were being said about her were “crazy.”

“That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” she told People of the rumors she had a surrogate and was sporting a fake bump. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’”

She added the rumored high security demands were equally “crazy” and “ridiculous.”

While Beyonce didn’t let the rumors get to her, it was her mom Tina Knowles who was more affected by the rumors.

“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” Tina Knowles said. ”As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

Tina adds, though, her daughter’s fans “made it easier to deal with the stupid rumors.”

Despite the rumors, Beyonce, who was named World’s Most Beautiful by People, says motherhood has made her feel more beautiful.

"I feel more beautiful than I've ever felt because I've given birth," she told the magazine. "I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth…The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy," she adds. "The word 'love' means something completely different now."
