Charlie Sheen has tapped his ex-wife, Denise Richards, to do a guest spot on his new series, Anger Management.
The FX show, based on the 2003 movie of the same name which starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, stars Sheen as former baseball player Charlie Goodson, who overcomes his rage issues to become an anger management therapist. Selma Blair co-stars as another therapist.
Richards will play Lori, the new business partner of Charlie’s former flame, Jennifer (played by Shawnee Smith).
Sheen and Richards previously worked together on episodes of Spin City and Two and a Half Men, as well as the movies, Good Advice (2001) and Scary Movie 3 (2003).
They were married from 2002 until their divorce in 2006. Richards was pregnant with their second child when she filed for divorce. They reached a custody agreement in 2009.
His father, actor Martin Sheen, has also been set to make an appearance on the show. They had previously worked together in the film, Wall Street (1987).
The series, which will be co-produced by Sheen’s brother, Ramon Estevez, is set to debut June 28. Ten episodes have already been ordered by the network.
This marks Sheen’s return to television since his infamous dismissal from Men after that show’s eighth season, which was the result of Sheen’s conflicts with the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre.
