Paul McCartney almost actually died in a car crash...at the hands of singer Demi Lovato.
The “Give your Heart A Break” singer tweeted on Tuesday that she narrowly missed hitting the 69-year-old former Beatle with her car. According to E! News, Lovato first tweeted to her 6.4 million followers “So.... today I was pulling into a parking space that some guys were standing in the middle of, and almost hit them..... When one of the guys...”
In her next tweet, she made the big reveal. “...turned around.... it was a BEATLE........ Yes, YOU HEARD ME.... SIR PAUL McCARTNEY!!! He was so sweet!! Can't believe I met him today.. WOW!” Lovato was still shocked by getting a chance to meet the legendary McCartney, later writing, “And.... I can't believe I almost ran over a Beatle....... :l.”
Many of Lovato’s fans were happy that she didn’t hit McCartney. One wrote, “I am so jealous!!!!!!!! Lucky! Well congrats on meeting him, thats my ultimate wish :).”
McCartney has survived his share of hoaxes, so his fans should be happy to know that he survived a near-death experience in the real world. Over 40 years ago, McCartney was the victim of one hoax that claimed he was dead and that several Beatles songs and album covers were littered with hints of his death. Last month he survived another death hoax, 21st century style, that started on Twitter.
Much like The Washington Post notes, one does have to wonder why McCartney was standing in the middle of a parking spot.
