Nicole Richie joined her father Lionel onstage for a touching family duet in the TV special ACM PRESENTS: Lionel Richie and Friends – In Concert, taped at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Hello singer and his adopted daughter, seated together at the piano, sang one of his many hits for the show that will air on CBS next week.
But, according to RadarOnline, this is not Nicole’s first musical performance. Inspired by her musically talented father, the 30-year-old mother-of-two performed for the We Are The World 25 For Haiti.
The concert featured performances of some of Richie’s classic pop hits by country stars such as Martina McBride and Lady Antebellum.
In addition to his duet with daughter Nicole, Richie harmonized with other vocal powerhouses such as Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, and Rascal Flatts.
Though Shania Twain was not there to sing “Endless Love” with Richie (they released a music video for the romantic ballad), Sara Evans and Marc Anthony stepped up to perform the fan favorite, reports CMT.
Richie, who re-recorded some of his memorable songs with today’s top country stars for his album of duets entitled Tuskegee, admits that he has always been a little bit country.
“I’ve always felt right at home in country because I was raised just down the road from Nashville in Tuskegee, Alabama, where I was immersed in country, R&B, gospel and classical music,” Richie said, according to Yahoo! News.
The full concert special will air on Friday, April 13, 2012 on CBS at 9 p.m.
