Martin Lawrence and wife file for divorce

Martin Lawrence and wife Shamicka are filing for divorce after 15 years together and two years of marriage.

According to E! Online, a rep confirmed that the couple made “the joint decision to part ways."

The Lawrences released a statement saying, “Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together.”

A rep for the couple confirmed to People the news that the Bad Boys actor and Shamicka, who dated for 15 years and married in 2010, have decided to remain friends in light of their two daughters, Amara and Iyana.

No other details pertaining to the reason behind the divorce have been released.

Lawrence recently starred in Big Momma's House: Like Father, Like Son as well as the Untitled Martin Lawrence Project set for release later this year. A third installment to the Bad Boys franchise has been announced, with the pending date as yet to be released.
