If a Whitney Houston biopic were to be made, Rihanna would love to portray the late superstar.
Houston’s mentor and close friend, Clive Davis, was rumored to be moving forward with the project, but he has told Gossip Cop that there are no plans for this to happen.
If ever done however, Rihanna would “love” to take the role.
“That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off," Rihanna told The Press Association. "That's a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job."
Rihanna has always looked to Houston as an inspiration.
“My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song -- 'I Will Always Love You,'" Rihanna continued. "It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really she's partly responsible for me being here in this industry."
Houston passed away on February 11. Recently, toxicology reports have revealed that the singer passed away from accidental drowning in her bathtub. Cocaine and heart disease were also said to be factors in her premature death.
Other celebrity names that have been tossed around to possibly play Houston in the future are Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Vivica A. Fox.
Rihanna is a newcomer to acting, making her movie debut in the upcoming film, Battleship. The singer will be portraying U.S. Navy officer Raikes. The film will hit theaters on May 18.
Rihanna has been making headlines recently, as it has been speculated that she is once again dating Chris Brown who assaulted Rihanna in February 2009. Recently, the pair collaborated on two songs.
In addition, not too long ago news broke that a Georgia chef named a sandwich “black and bleu,” poking fun at what happened between Rihanna and Brown. He has a number of celebrity sandwiches, another being a sandwich with powdered sugar and sea salt, which came out after Houston passed away.
