The family of former Bee Gee Robin Gibb is singing to him while he lies in a coma at a London hospital.
His wife, Dwina, said that their child Robin-John and Gibb’s children from his previous marriage, Spencer and Melissa, have been playing music in the hope that he will recover.
"His brother Barry, his wife Linda and son Stephen came over from America. Barry was singing to him. Thousands of people are saying prayers every day,” she added. Barry is another former Bee Gee member. The third member was their brother Maurice, who died in 2003.
Gibb, 62, has been battling colon and liver cancer since 2010. He fell into a coma in last week after he developed pneumonia.
He and Dwina have been married for 28 years. He also has a daughter, Snow, with his former housekeeper.
"My wife is a lesbian and I love it,” he once told Howard Stern.
The family’s attempt to improve his health may be starting to pay off.
"There were flickers of life from Robin. His eyes moved and there was an attempt at speech," a source said. "It was a good sign he is fighting hard for his life but he is certainly not out of the woods yet. The family have to remain very cautious."
