Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, both stars on HBO’s True Blood, announced on Tuesday that they are expecting their first child.
Their representatives first confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly, adding that their child is due in the fall. It is the first pregnancy for the 29-year-old Paquin.
Moyer, 42, is already the father of two children, Lilac, 10, and Billy, 12, from a previous relationship, notes People magazine.
Paquin and Moyer met in 2007 while shooting the pilot for the Alan Ball-created vampire series, which also stars Alexander Skarsgard. Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse and Moyer plays Bill Compton. Paquin won a Golden Globe in 2009 for best actress in a drama series. She is also the second-youngest winner of an Oscar, winning best supporting actress for Jane Campion’s 1993 film, The Piano. She was just 11-years-old at the time.
Paquin and Moyer married in August 2010. Us Weekly notes that Paquin told Marie Claire prior to their marriage that she planned to hold off on having children. "I have trouble planning anything more than brunch with my friends...But when the time's right, we'll do it." Clearly, the couple found the right time.
True Blood will be entering its fifth season this summer. Earlier this month, HBO announced that the season will start on June 10.
