In an interview shown on Friday on The Today Show show, Bobby Brown discussed the role drugs played in his life and that of his former love, the late Whitney Houston.
Brown, with finance/manager Alicia Etheridge and three of his children, sat down with anchor Matt Lauer. However, Bobbi Kristina, Brown’s child with Houston, was not present.
"Are you talking about drugs?" Brown’s daughter LaPrincia asked when Lauer asked about any dysfunction between Brown and Houston. "I never in my life ever seen that."
Brown’s other two children present, Landon and Bobby Brown Jr., said that they were also unaware and unaffected by any drug use which occurred around them.
"I heard a lot of stuff in the media when I was younger, and I was completely oblivious to that," said Landon, who lived in Houston’s home for a time. "I didn't know anything was going on."
LaPrincia, however, said that Brown discussed the situation with her when the media reports became too prominent to ignore.
The children, however, are not concerned with reports doubting that Brown is now sober.
"I don't have any fears," said Bobby Brown Jr. "My father is a very strong man.... He's progressed so much."
In April, Brown claimed that he did not know Houston was taking drugs prior to her death in February.
''It's just unexplainable .. how one could, you know, (say that I) got her addicted to drugs. I'm not the reason she's gone,” he told Lauer at that time.
