Britney Spears reportedly walked off the set of The X Factor during the first day of filming.
During auditions at the set in Austin, Texas, Spears left upon hearing a contestant sing her 2011 song, "Hold It Against Me."
But Spears, 30, reportedly left because she needed a break, not because someone was playing one of her songs.
However, the other judges, Simon Cowell, L. A. Reid and Demi Lovato, stayed to evaluate four other aspiring singers.
Spears later returned and gave a good review to someone the audience felt did not sing well. This feeling was emphasized by audiences booing when Spears gave her review.
"I feel like you need a new teacher to teach you how to sing,” was the harshest thing she said during that first day.
This also marked Lovato’s first day as an X Factor judge.
Spears is reportedly earning $13 million for her work on the show, which is currently in production of its second season. When news of her joining the show was announced earlier in May, some were skeptical due to the breakdown she suffered in 2008. This breakdown led to Spears being placed into a conservatorship under her father.
