Top three Celebrity Apprentice contestant Aubrey O'Day self-released her latest single, “Wrecking Ball,” and talked with ClevverNews about the song's message. She also discussed the future of her music career and her thoughts on ill-fated pop group Danity Kane reuniting.

O'Day mentioned that most relationship songs are about someone playing victim, but that her single is unique with its message. “['Wrecking Ball' is] about a relationship that needed to be wrecked – that needed to be taken apart – and I love that the person singing it is the one doing it,” O'Day told ClevverNews.

“Wrecking Ball” is a departure from O'Day's R&B days of Danity Kane and the dance tunes she released soon after leaving the group. The song, penned by American Idol alum Pia Toscano, sports a more urban pop sound as O'Day sings about ending a failing relationship. Billboard reported that the song bubbled under its Hot 100 singles chart last week with 3,000 downloads, a sure sign that the ballad is on-track to break through soon.

When asked about a whole album worth of music coming out soon, O'Day responded, “I will do my best to release the music that I have the second that I can.” O'Day has been in the studio meanwhile recording songs ranging from more electronic sounding numbers and pop jams to a recent dub step track that she's excited about. With recording all these songs, O'Day told ClevverNews that she is still taking her time with the album. “It's a matter of time and it's a matter of how and when,” she said of the album's release.

The former Danity Kane singer is also in talks to star in her own live Las Vegas show. It is still in the creative development stage with crafting the music and the show itself, but O'Day hopes to put something together that will please the nightlife crowd. “I want [my show] to be a progression that leads them into the club,” O'Day said to ClevverNews.

Concerning Danity Kane, the pop group that produced two number one albums but was disbanded by rap mogul Diddy in 2008, O'Day said if the decision was up to her to reunite the group that she would do so in a heartbeat.

“I don't think none of us will be as amazing as we were in that group. We are all amazing in our own way, but we were a force to be reckoned with when we were all together,” O'Day reflected about a possibility of the Danity Kane reuniting.

O'Day can currently be seen in the finale of The Celebrity Apprentice. “Wrecking Ball” was released on iTunes in April.
