After spending the last couple of years producing and collaborating with other artists, Eminem has begun a new solo album.
Eminem reported the news in an interview with New York City radio station Hot 97.
Eminem called to announce that the act he is currently producing, Slaughterhouse, will perform at Hot 97’s Summer Jam.
When host Peter Rosenberg asked Eminem what he was currently working on, Eminem said that in addition to finishing Slaughterhouse’s new album, he was also in the early stages of his next solo album.
Eminem’s last album was 2010’s Recovery, according to Rolling Stone.
Recovery debuted at number one in the United States and spawned the hit-singles “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie.”
After Recovery, Eminem teamed up with Royce da 5’9” to release Hell: the Sequel under the name Bad Meets Evil. Hell: The Sequel also debuted at number one in the US.
Eminem’s current project, Slaughterhouse, is a hip-hop super group consisting of Royce da 5’ 9’’, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Crooked I.
Slaughterhouse’s new album, Welcome to: Our House is scheduled for release on June 12 on Interscope Records and Eminem’s Shady Records.
