Glee usually covers the hottest songs out, so it’s no surprise that they have decided to take on the mega-hit, One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”
Five of the guys from McKinley high will take on One Direction for the hit Fox show’s prom-themed episode on Tuesday.
Artie, played by Kevin McHale, Sam, played by Chord Overstreet, Mike, played by Harry Shum Jr., Joseph, played by Samuel Larsen and Rory, played by Damian McGinty, are seen channeling their inner boy band as they take the stage and make all of the girls swoon around them, giving their best choreographed dance moves.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, last year at junior prom, the most buzzed about song at the time was Rebecca Black’s “Friday” so the cast covered that song. But this year it was all about One Direction.
Other songs to be featured on the senior prom episode are Selena Gomez’s “Love You Like a Love Song,” Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry,” Berlin's "Take My Breath Away," and finale Ke$ha’s “Dinosaur,” appropriate because as the prom is dinosaur-themed.
Back in March, One Direction spoke to MTV News about the possibility of one of their songs making it on Glee, and at the time they had no idea.
“We haven't really heard, so we know as much as you. We're just waiting to find out, well, so, maybe,” said Harry Styles.
