The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson is set to be the new owner of a home once owned by the late Heath Ledger.
Ledger’s home, located in the Hollywood Hills, has been dubbed "The Tree House," due to its wooden decks surrounded with foliage. This gives it the look of being in a treetop. It was built in 1951 and covers over 1,800 square feet.
The current owner of the property bought it following Ledger’s death in 2008 at age 28. The actor bought it three years earlier for over $2 million. He, in turn, bought the house from Ellen DeGeneres.
It is not known if Hutcherson, 19, will pay the current asking price of just under $3 million.
Ledger shared the home with his former love, Michelle Williams, and their daughter, Matilda, until the couple’s split in 2007. Ledger and Williams shared the screen in Brokeback Mountain (2005), which earned them both Academy Award nominations. Ledger would win a posthumous Oscar for his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008).
Hutcherson also tweeted his plans to take a break from acting and go into racing.
“holy s**t. I’m at the Infineon raceway in Napa with @audi ripping around the course in an R8. So fast. #bestimeever (sic),” the tweet read.
