Jessica Simpson has her hands full as a new mom. The singer, actress, and fashion designer welcomed her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson, baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson, on May 1 in Los Angeles.
"This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!" Simpson wrote on her website, where she announced the arrival of her daughter, who weighed in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces.
First-time motherhood could become overwhelming, but Jennifer Lopez, who is a mother to 4-year-old twins Max and Emme, offered her best advice on what to expect as a new mom.
“She’s going to be so sleepy,” the 42-year-old star of the upcoming film What to Expect When You’re Expecting told Entertainment Tonight. “She needs to get rest. Hopefully her man is helping her out a lot and they can balance that.”
Above anything else, though, Lopez says Jessica should just cherish the moment.
“It’s a magical time,” she continued. “When that baby is first born it takes over your whole life. Just enjoy it. Just enjoy every second of it. It goes so fast. [My kids] are this big now. It’s like I had them yesterday.”
