After reports on Monday that Khloe & Lamar, E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians spin-off, was going to be cancelled, Khloe Kardashian Odom and husband Lamar Odom explained at the E! Upfront event in New York Monday night that they are just planning to take a break from their show.
Entertainment Tonight reports that Khloe clarified the show’s situation. “Our show is not cancelled,” she said. She added that the two of them decided “...to take a break this summer...We just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with family time, kids, basketball, Olympics, you never know. So, we have a lot on our plate right now.”
Lamar added that they will get back to Khloe & Lamar “...when it’s time.” Lamar was released from the Dallas Mavericks this season and is hoping to get his basketball career back on track. He will be trying out for the Olympic basketball team.
Rumors that Khloe & Lamar was going to get cancelled started early Monday when TMZ first reported that the show was being canned so Lamar could work on his basketball skills. Just hours later, Khloe’s publicist denied the report to Entertainment Weekly. “It will depend on their schedules as Lamar’s basketball schedule is a priority,” the publicist wrote.
Now, a new report from TMZ on Tuesday says that Khloe wants to do a series without Lamar. E! sources told the site that they are talking about a spin-off similar to Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.
Meanwhile, E! has picked up Keeping Up With The Kardashians for another three seasons and also announced several new shows.
