Saturday Night Live will conclude its 36th season by having Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger serve as host and musical guest.
This will mark Jagger’s third time as SNL’s musical guest, but his first as host.
Jagger, 68, also made a cameo on a 2001 episode of SNL. The skit he appeared in had Jimmy Fallon mimicking Jagger while looking in a mirror.
The Rolling Stones mark their 50th anniversary together this year. Plans to celebrate the occasion have yet to be announced.
SNL itself has been dogged by rumors that some of its current cast, in particular Kristen Wiig, may be leaving the show after the current season. Wiig’s contract expires after the season.
"This year I've been an after-after sort of girl," she said regarding the six day work week SNL gives her. "Sometimes I need to blow off steam and go dance really hard."
Series creator Lorne Michaels is also not sure about Wiig’s future on the show.
"I’m not really certain myself," he said. "I know there will be some, but it’s sort of the nature of the way we work that no one talks about it until the season’s done. Needless to say, I’d like everyone to stay."
The finale will air May 19 at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
