Miley Cyrus is in a happy relationship now, but she has had her fair share of heart break in the past. The 19-year-old actress says her biggest heartbreak was when she was 14.
According to Celebuzz, on the Lifetime show, The Conversation with Amanda de Cadanet, Cyrus said she thought she was in love with a boy at 14 who broke her heart.
“When you’re that young, even now, if anything happens it’s the end of the world. It’s the end of your world,” she said. “I had my biggest heartbreak when I was 14, even though that sounds crazy. That was what love was to me. I was in love with somebody. I was in love with this person that I thought was perfect and so amazing. So, when you get your heartbroken, that’s all you see.[ I thought] the rest of my life is ruined because he doesn’t love me back. He doesn’t think I’m pretty then I’m not pretty. He doesn’t think I’m worth his time then I’m not worth anyone’s time.”
She says if she could go back and give herself advice at 14, she’d give the same advice her dad has always given her.
“My dad always said it to me, and I never really listened. I would always sweat the small stuff. ‘This too shall pass,’ I think that’s something…that I needed to remember… [a breakup] is not the end of the world ‘til there’s no more pulse," she added. "You got to keep going. That’s something I always, kind of, tell myself. It’s generic, but it’s true.”
Cyrus isn’t currently suffering any heartbreak. She is happy in her relationship with The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.
