Octomom Nadya Suleman files for bankruptcy

Amidst controversy after spending $520 on haircuts, Child Protective Services investigating her home after her hairstylist said her 14 children were living in “squalor,” Nadya ‘Octomom’ Suleman is filing for bankruptcy.

Last week Suleman was under fire when photos were published of her children running around without pants or shoes and were see portable potty’s as toilets. When he hair stylist reported that there was only one working toilet, CPS reported to the home of the 14 children, but left without complaint.

According to reports, Suleman filed for personal bankruptcy on Monday, April 30. Suleman claimed $50,000 in assets and $1 million in debts.

Currently, the mother of 14’s home is up for auction. If the auction goes through, the family will be evicted.

Suleman has said that she lives off of the media attention in order to pay for what she and her children need. At the time of the haircut, she claimed that she had the money and did not use welfare to pay for the services. Suleman did mention, at the time, that she was on her last month of welfare.

TMZ reported that Suleman was looking into the adult entertainment industry where she would video herself pleasuring herself. TMZ notes that Suleman “does not consider a masturbation video porn, because it’s a solo mission.”

In a statement Suleman said, "I have had to make some very difficult decisions this year, and filing Chapter 7 was one of them. But I have to do what is best for my children, and I need a fresh start."
