Report: 'Game of Thrones' actor Sean Bean arrested for verbally harassing ex-wife

What a difference a year makes.

Last year, Game of Thrones star Sean Bean was stabbed outside of a bar in London for reportedly defending a woman who was being spoken about in a derogatory manner. Now it is being reported that Bean was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly harassing his ex-wife.

According to People magazine, a man identified as actor Sean Bean was seen arriving at a police station on Wednesday where he was questioned about claims that he had been sending abusive text messages and making harassing phone calls to his ex-wife Georgina Sutcliffe.

The Daily Mirror reports that Bean’s interview with police at Holborn police station in Central London was pre-arranged and his fingerprints and DNA were taken before the questioning began. A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed the arrest to People.

“A 53-year-old man attended a central London police station by appointment yesterday, where he was arrested on suspicion of harassment and bailed until a later date,” the spokesman said.

It is believed that Sutcliffe was informed of the arrest just prior to her Wednesday night performance in the West End production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. A source told The Daily Mirror that the only thing that Sutcliffe wants right now is to put this all behind her and move on with her life.

“Georgina’s a smashing girl and she just wants to get on with her life and move on after the divorce,” the source said.

Bean and Sutcliffe met in 2003 at a bar that Sutcliffe was managing at the West End theatre. They were married in February 2008 and divorced in 2010. Sutcliffe was the actor’s fourth wife. He was previously married to his school girlfriend Debra James and actresses Melanie Hill and Abigail Cruttenden, according to The Daily Mirror.

People reports that the actor’s rep did not immediately respond to their request for a comment.
