Robert Pattinson clears up rumors about his involvement in 'The Hunger Games' sequel.

Rumors were circulating that Robert Pattinson was cast as Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, but those rumors have been squashed.

Earlier this week, Total Film reported that Lionsgate wanted Pattinson to star as Finnick Odair, a ladies man that plays a pivotal role in the next installment of The Hunger Games. The fact that Francis Lawrence, who previously worked with Pattinson on Water For Elephants, is directing Catching Fire gave some support to the rumors.

The rumors grew so strong that Pattinson needed to double check with his agent to make sure if he was really up for the role.

"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent," Pattinson told USA Today.

Pattinson’s agent assured him that he was not up for the part.

Pattinson continued, "[My agent] was like, 'No one's going to offer you that part.' I was like, ‘thanks for the reassurance.’”

Catching Fire is set to hit theaters on November 22, 2013. As of now, no one has been cast in the role of Finnick Odair.
