Although Bobbi Kristina Brown is mourning the loss of her mother, Whitney Houston, the actress has gotten praise for her recent work from filmmaker Tyler Perry.
Brown, Houston’s daughter with Bobby Brown, acted for Perry in his TBS comedy series, For Better or Worse.
Reports surfaced Wednesday that Brown walked off the set of the show to deal with Houston’s death.
However, Perry countered by stating on his website: "Yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time."
A source close to the actress confirmed that she did not walk off the set and wanted to do more, but was not emotionally able to at the time.
Perry stated that he cast Brown as a way of helping her grieve. Houston died Feb. 11 of drug-related causes at age 48. Perry lost his own mother, who died in 2009 at age 64.
Perry has cited her as the inspiration for his character, Madea.
"I can hear her voice and spirit talking to me and telling me, ‘Keep movin’, baby. I’m right here. I got you,'" Brown told Oprah Winfrey less than a month after Houston’s death.
Brown’s next project is a reality show with Houston’s sister-in-law Pat, brother Gary, mom Cissy and Pat's daughter Rayah.
