It’s hard to believe Skinny Girl entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel was once on The Real Housewives of New York City. She went on to have her own spin-off shows Bethenny Getting Married? and Bethenny Ever After two years ago, she’s now embarking upon her own talk show.
But the mogul mom explained recently that had a little something to do with casting one of the new Housewives of NYC -- Aviva Drescher.
“I don’t know her well, but a couple of years ago, I recommended her, and it didn’t happen,” she explained, The New York Daily News reports. “And I was talking to [Bravo executive] Andy Cohen and I said, ‘Why did you not look at that girl, the woman Aviva?’
“And he said, ‘I don’t even know who you’re talking about.’ And I said, ‘Go back and find the tape of that woman. I think she would probably be a good housewife.’ So here we are.
Frankel believed that Drescher would make an interesting story for the viewers, as she had an accident at a young age and has lost her leg.
“She is from the upper East Side of Manhattan and was married to somebody that I know. She just seemed like she’d be a good character. She seemed like she’d be part of some drama also on the show.”
Meanwhile, AceShowBiz reports that Frankel recently opened up about the miscarriage she suffered just eight weeks into her second pregnancy.
She told Glamour that she blamed herself, but the doctors reassured her that her age of 41 was the reason she lost the baby.
“Is it because I'm busy? My lifestyle? Is this my fault?" she asked. "I blamed myself - of course I did."
