Former President Bill Clinton believes actor George Clooney is the best man to portray him in a movie.
On Thursday’s Piers Morgan Tonight, Clinton discussed topics, including the economy, with guest host Harvey Weinstein.
When the discussion turned to entertainment, Clinton announced that his favorite movie was the classic western High Noon (1952).
“I bet I’ve seen it 25 or 30 times,” the former chief executive said. “The only other movie like that in my life that I'd just see over and over and over again and never get tired of is ‘Casablanca.’ ”
Weinstein then asked Clinton which actor he'd want to play him in a movie if a biographical movie was made.
Clinton rejected Weinstein’s suggestion of Brad Pitt for being too good-looking. But George Clooney got the green light.
“He’s good looking, but, you know, you could put bulbous things on his nose and you could do makeup with him,” Clinton joked.
Clooney, a strong supporter of the Democratic party, was also praised by Clinton for his performance in The Descendants (2011).
When asked who could play his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the former president, without hesitation, said Meryl Streep.
Actor Dennis Quaid played Clinton in the HBO movie The Special Relationship (2010). Both Darrell Hammond and the late Phil Hartman parodied Clinton on Saturday Night Live.
