If Charlie Sheen doesn’t make it as a therapist in Anger Management, he can always use president of the United States as a fallback plan.
According to E! News, director Robert Rodriguez announced via Twitter today that he had cast the actor in his upcoming film, Machete Kills.
He writes, “I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon.”
E! adds that alongside Sheen will star Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard and Mel Gibson and it is slated for a 2013 release. The news comes just days after Sheen’s revealing interview with Playboy magazine in which he proclaimed, “I was in complete denial.”
Anger Management marks Sheen’s first return to TV since being fired from Two and a Half Men and going on his infamous “Tigers blood” meltdown. Sheen admitted that it “was the buildup of all the time I've been in the business, the divorces and everything.”
With one sitcom in the works and movie in the future, Sheen seems to be back on track.
