Courteney Cox responds to David Arquette’s divorce filing, wants to drop his last name

Just a few minutes after David Arquette finally filed for divorce from his wife, Courteney Cox, she filed her own papers in response on Friday. Cox also cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce.

Like Arquette, who reportedly filed his documents Friday before taking a trip to Israel, Cox filed her paperwork without a lawyer and will be representing herself, reports TMZ. The paperwork also makes no mention of a pre-nup and sources for the couple told the site that one does not exist.

Without a pre-nup, all of their earnings made while they were together for 12 ½ years could be split directly in half. Cox is worth far more than Arquette, thanks to Friends, and is worth an estimated $75 million. Arquette, who co-starred in all the Scream films with Cox, is worth $18 million.

According to The Associated Press, Cox has also requested that she has her last name legally changed back to Cox.

The Cougar Town actress is also seeking joint physical and legal custody of their 8-year-old daughter, Coco.

Cox and Arquette filed their documents just minutes within each other on Friday, just before their 13th wedding anniversary, which was on Tuesday. The couple announced their separation in August 2010 and have been amicable since, making appearances together and filming Scream 4.
