‘DWTS’ Cheryl Burke wants to be the next 'Bachelorette'

With the season finale of The Bachelorette coming up in July, the ABC producers are on the look-out for a new Bachelorette. Who’s lining up? Dancing with the Stars pro Cheryl Burke expressed interest.

The 28-year-old dancer told People magazine, “My dating record hasn't been great the past couple of years so if I have a chance to go on [The Bachelorette] I will...I'm getting old, you know, so it's something of interest to me.”

Even though the two-time DWTS champion performs in front of a huge audience and dances with good-looking fellas including William Levy and Robert Kardashian, she revealed that she’s a shy person and doesn’t approach people.

“It would be fun to have a pool of guys around you and getting to know someone,” she revealed. “I think if I had people setting me up with different guys I think it would be easier for me to meet someone to date.”

From the way the girls from past seasons were chosen, there may not be a good chance of Burke making the cut. Emily Maynard, the current Bachelorette and Ashley Hebert from season 7 were both from Brad Womack’s season. Also, Ali Fedotowsky from season 6 was on Jake Pavelka’s season of The Bachelor.

While the next Bachelorette hasn’t been named yet, there are rumors that Roberto Martinez, who was engaged to Ali Fedotowsky, will be the next Bachelor.

“He's already signed the contract,” a production insider confirmed to Life & Style magazine. “They chose him because he's very likable.”
