There’s been a lot of buzz in Hollywood about who could fill the roles of the main characters for the film adaptation of the literary phenomenon Fifty Shades of Grey.
Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder and True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard have both showed interest in the part of Christian Grey, and now Emma Roberts is showing interest in the lead female role of Anastasia Steele.
"Everyone says read Fifty Shades of Grey. I don't really understand," Roberts told MTV News at Seventeen magazine's Pretty Amazing Contest event. "But everyone on the plane was reading it, and I was like, 'I should probably just get it.' "
The young actress seemed pretty game to play the role of the innocent Ana. "I haven't read it, I don't even understand, but yeah, it sounds awesome. Anything racy, hot," she said. "Sure, let's get hot."
Other names for the role of Ana that have been tossed around are Kristen Stewart and Nina Dobrev, who said she wouldn’t take the role if her Vampire Diaries co-star and off-screen love interest, Somerhalder, signed on for Christian Grey.
Another actress who wouldn’t play the role is Selena Gomez, who said she thinks someone older should play Ana.
