Spider-Man co-stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have extreme chemistry both onscreen and off.
The two stars, who met on set and are now dating, recently met with MTV News where they explained their chemistry. Garfield explains, “We got on really well as people, in between [takes}. That was the fun stuff: In between, we'd just mess around, and I felt, 'Ah, this is different.' I wasn't really aware what was happening in the screen test. She keeps you on your toes, and that wakes you up. That was the beginning.”
He continues, "Obviously I was so happy that she got the role and decided to do it. Those are the days I'd look forward to, you know? For Peter as well, because Peter goes through some horrible stuff in the movie. There's some joy to be had when experiencing his first love."
Stone will play Gwen Stacy in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man. Surprisingly, Stone was hesitant on taking the role. She tells Access Hollywood that she actually attributes Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence, to giving her the empowerment to take on the role.
She explains the uncertainty she felt going into another big role. When she tried for the part, she explains to Access that it was “before” The Help, the film that landed her a big-screen name, came out. “It was the end of 2010 so it was very different than now. So, it’s mindboggling,” she explains.
The Amazing Spider-Man is set to hit theaters July 3, 2012.
