Nearly three years after they announced their intention to divorce, Jon Gosselin has apologized to his ex-wife, Kate.
“I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn't want done to me," he said in an upcoming interview with People magazine.
The stars of the reality series, Jon and Kate Plus 8, walked down the aisle in 1999. They filed for divorce a decade later amid rumors of Jon’s infidelity. Similar stories about Kate quickly followed.
"I was passive-aggressive," Jon, 35, said. "Then I'd get mad, but I was the one who wasn't communicating."
The show was later re-titled Kate Plus 8. Jon later joined the sports event and management firm, Gameface International. He is currently dating single mother Liz Jannetta.
"I've been offered a lot of stuff," he says. "Crazy stuff. It wasn't the right fit, then or now. I don't want [my kids] thinking I take every show just to make a buck."
Today, Jon states that he has the utmost respect for Kate and that he must shoulder the blame for the end of their marriage.
“I married at 22 and for 10 years I never went out. I reverted back to being 23. I didn’t realize how famous I was,” he said.
Jon added that Kate is a great mother.
