Actress Drew Barrymore married art consultant Will Kopelman on June 2 at her home in Montecito, California, and now the man behind the bride’s Chanel wedding gown – Karl Lagerfeld – is sharing his thoughts on working with the actress along with some advice for pregnant women seeking to dress up their baby bumps.
Drew Barrymore is known for her bohemian chic style so it may have come as a surprise to some when the bride-to-be chose the high-fashion design house Chanel to create her wedding gown. It turns out that Barrymore’s new husband, Will Kopelman, is the son of former Chanel CEO, Arie Kopelman, and Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld has known Will since he was a child.
The Associated Press caught up with Lagerfeld on Wednesday at the opening of an exhibit celebrating Chanel’s signature Little Black Jacket.
“I love her. She’s great,” Lagerfeld said of Barrymore.
According to the AP, Barrymore tried on a number of options before deciding on a custom gown that featured feathers, embroidered flowers and a black satin belt.
So what is the legendary designer’s advice for women, like Barrymore, who are dressing up their baby bumps?
“Be comfortable, even in the wedding dress,” he said.
Popsugar reports that other celebrities and friends of Lagerfeld’s who attended Wednesday night’s event included Linda Evangelista, Zoe Kravitz, Karolina Kurkova and Penn Badgley.
