Actress Laura Fraser will join AMC series Breaking Bad for its upcoming fifth season.

She will make her debut appearance in the second episode of the new season.

According to the show’s executive producer Vince Gilligan, Fraser’s character, Lydia, is a former acquaintance of Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus Fring. Lydia is pivotal to how events will take shape in the season, despite being a nervous character.

Fraser has appeared on the BBC series Neverwhere and Lip Service as well as the movies Titus (1999), Vanilla Sky (2001) and A Knight’s Tale (2001).

Another new character on the show is Jesse Plemons as Todd, a young man who crosses paths with Bryan Cranston’s Walter White.

Bad focuses on White, a struggling former high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer. He turns to a life of crime to secure his family’s financial future before his imminent death.

Cranston has won Emmy awards for his performance on the show along with co-star Aaron Paul, who plays White’s former student Jesse Pinkman who helps White produce and sell crystal meth.

The fifth season begins July 15.
