This week’s Melissa and Joey is another two episode special!
The episode entitled, “The Knockout,” starts off with everyone at a movie theater. When a man in the audience harasses Lennox and Ryder, Mel loses her cool and punches the man in the face.
Joe makes fun of Mel for her outburst and she tries to brush it off as a huge regret and something she shouldn’t have done. Joe claims she is just like him, but she tries to defend herself and move on from the incident.
The video of Mel punching the man has surfaced on the internet and has gone viral.
Back at Mel’s office, her campaign manager is trying to get Mel re-elected. When the campaign manager finds out about the video, she decides to spin the video and make it seem like Mel is strong enough to be re-elected as council woman; the public responds well.
At Lennox’s high school, she sees a new girl, who is a little stranger, sitting my herself and decides to go help her out and talk to her and try to become her friend and invite her over her house.
When Mel gets home, Joe finds out about her new angle on the fighting called, “Battling Burke.” She is ecstatic about the day. But, when Ryder comes home he is upset because his aunt had to defend him. When a kid at school challenges him to a fight, he decides to fight him.
Mel tells him fighting doesn’t solve anything, but Joe decides to help him learn how to fight. Lennox interrupts their fake fight to try and find her English notebook, but Joe thinks that Hester stole her notebook. Lennox tries to defend her new friend.
At a supermarket, when a man goes to a line with too many items, the cashier wants Mel to beat up the man.
When Hester comes back over their home, Lennox and Joe look through her bag and find the notebook in her bag. Hester isn’t fazed by Lennox’s outburst and leaves the home. Joe is glum because he was right.
At home, Mel is taking a photo-shoot with pink boxing gloves to feed into her new image. When Ryder comes home, he has a split lip and Mel and Joe finds out that Ryder fought a boy at school.
When the mother of the boy comes over and wants to fight her, Mel realizes her mistake and decides to take off the boxing gloves. When Joe tells her it’s okay and that everyone has a aggressive streak, he tries to get her to fight him. She declines but then hits him in the stomach, catching him off guard.
Lennox tells Joe that Hester has cleaned up her act and is becoming a nicer person, and Lennox realizes she has been right all along.
The second episode is called, “The Other Longo,” starts off with Lennox worried about a big party this weekend because Ryder is sick.
Mel is busy trying to work on a speech she has to give that weekend at a job fair. everyone keeps interrupting her while she is working.
Joe wants his brother to stay over the house. His brother, Tony, played by Joey Lawrence’s real life brother, Matthew Lawrence, pops up from the basement and introduces himself to Mel.
Mel doesn’t want him to stay at the house because she is busy, so she tells Joe to make him leave after a day.
Tony realizes it’s a bad time to stay and decides to leave. Mel goes to talk to him and sees all of the photos he took on his travels. She decides to let him stay if he does a photo-shoot of her.
Tony asks Joe about Mel and if there is something going on between them because he wants to ask her out. Tony tells Joe if he likes Mel at all, he will stay away, and Joe convinces him there is no feelings there.
Lennox is adamant about staying away from Ryder while he is sick. Joe asks where Mel is, and Ryder tells him that she is out with Tony on a photo-shoot.
Joe interrupts the photo-shoot by bringing Mel’s laptop to her in the office. Mel interrogates him outside and tells him he is spying on them. Joe tells her that Tony is interested in her, but she doesn’t think that is a bad thing.
When Tony and Mel get home, Joe is waiting up for them. When Tony heads downstairs , Joe asks Mel what really happened at the photo-shoot. Mel tells him that she thinks he is jealous of them.
Stephanie, Mel’s assistant, is upset to find out the next morning that Tony and Mel are out for breakfast because she missed her chance with another Longo. Joe thinks nothing is going on and she is just trying to annoy him.
When they return, Joe has the bus ticket ready for him to leave, but Tony tells him that he is not leaving yet. Mel realizes she still has to finish her speech.
When Lennox shows Mel that there are pictures of her all over the internet. She is upset that the private photos Tony took are all over the web.
Ryder is not sick anymore and Lennox starts to sneeze and realizes she is now the sick one.
Joe confronts Tony about the photos he took of Mel. Theystart to fight in the basement. Tony is about to tell Mel that Joe may have feelings for her, but decides to tell Mel something else.
After the fight, Stephanie tells Mel that all of the woman love her photos because they see her as empowered.
Next week, Mel tries to get Joe to help out her new man.
