'Melissa and Joey' Recap: 6/20

By Danielle Costa,

This week with the premiere of ABC Family's newest show, Baby Daddy, there was only one episode of Melissa and Joey, but there was plenty of drama and comedy to go around!

The start of the episode with Mel walking into the room wearing a very big and unflattering dress. Joe asks for the reason to the unattractive outfit, and she responds that she wants to break up with her boyfriend.

Meanwhile, Lennox finds a distraught Holly at her doorstep who is anxious because she "accidentally," kissed another boy who was NOT Ryder. Lennox agrees to keep the secret as long as Holly tells him.

When Mel is at dinner with her boyfriend, he confides in her that he lost his job. Seeing how sad he was at the turn of events in his life, she couldn't break up with him just yet. When she got home, she asked Joe to help him get a new job and work on his confidence. Joe reluctantly agrees to help.

When Joe meets with Mel's boyfriend, he tries to help him improve his confidence. Joe asks out a girl right in front of him, and he is impressed by his "swag."

When Lennox tries to get Joe to tell Ryder about Holly, Ryder shocks them both by telling them he already knows. He says that he wants to keep it that way because Holly is being nice to him.

Mel tells Joe to work with her boyfriend a couple of more times and then she can break up with him.

At dinner, when Mel plans to break up with her boyfriend because he has a couple of job offers, she decides to stay with him because he is finally being confident.

At home, Joe tells her that he is acting just like him and that Mel is basically dating Joe Longo.

Meanwhile, Holly is being super nice to Ryder, but she finds out that he already knew. Holly gets upset and goes back to her old ways with Ryder, and he happily goes with it.

When Mel's boyfriend visits her at work and hits on another woman, she realizes things are completely different with him. When she gets home, Joe asks what happened, and she tells him they broke up because he didn't want to be "exclusive."

In the end, Joe tells her that he helped her because she DID want to break up with him a few weeks prior, and he DID help that to happen.

Next week, Mel and Joe set each other up on double dates!
