Despite Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s young ages, the newly-engaged couple’s families are reportedly thrilled with the progression of their relationship.
Of 19-year-old Cyrus’s father, Billy Ray, a source says, "Billy Ray loves Liam. He's happy his daughter has found the right guy.”
"The whole family loves Liam,” the source added to People, noting they have spent a lot of time getting to know the Australian actor throughout the couple’s three-year relationship.
"They spend Christmas and other holidays together. They've been down to Australia,” said a source of Hemsworth’s family.
The couple got engaged on May 31 after meeting in 2009 on the set of their film, The Last Song.
“She's pretty independent already," said an insider. "They're just so happy she's found someone who makes her so happy."
Indeed, Billy Ray echoed these same sentiments when he tweeted, “All I ever hoped for as a Daddy was to see my kids reach their dreams. To find happiness...peace of mind ...and someday know... true love.”
E! Online reports that Hemsworth presented Cyrus with a 3.5 carat diamond ring.
