American Idol winner Phillip Phillips received some bad news when his parents’ home town pawn shop was burglarized.
TMZ reports that the burglars stole more than $4,000 worth of hand guns, flat screen TVs, antique coins, necklaces, rings, as well as all money that was in the cash register. His parents, however, were not in Georgia at the time of the robbery.
Phillips is currently in recovery from his most recent surgery, E! News reports. He tells the news site, “I'm out of the hospital and back to work. Looking forward to the future." Phillips’s latest kidney surgery lasted a reported seven hours, but he has been released from the hospital and is at home recovering.
According to E! Phillips is resting up and preparing for his live American Idol summer tour, which kicks off July 6. The tour will perform 45 shows and will include Phillips as well as the remaining top 10. According to E! Phillips was all smiles after the surgery, sitting up and signing autographs.
