Trailer Park- 6/8 Edition

Two 3D films are hitting theaters around the country this week. One is aimed at kids and the other at adults. Explore the universe in three dimensions or go on a European adventure with the animals from the Central Park Zoo.

From New York to Africa and now Europe, Alex, Marty, Melman, Gloria and even King Julien III are back in Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. This time, the group, still trying to find their way back to their home at the Central Park Zoo, end up on the wrong continent. In an attempt to be inconspicuous, they join a traveling circus. The comedic adventure plays for one hour and 23 minutes. The PG animated film is available in 2D and 3D.

Discovering how the human race began may be the key to keeping it alive. In Prometheus, a group of scientists travel to another universe to find the answers to the mystery of life on earth. Their investigation brings a battle for survival. The film is directed by Ridley Scott (Gladiator) and stars Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, and Logan Marshall-Green. The sci-fi thriller runs for two hours and three minutes and is rated R for violence and language. It is available in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D theaters.

Based on real events, For the Love of Money tells the story of Izek Shomof, a young Jewish immigrant whose family flees from their home in Tel Aviv to get away from the crime surrounding them. They head to the United States for refuge, but soon Izek gets caught up in Los Angeles' gangster lifestyle. Yuda Levi, James Caan, Paul Sorvino, Edward Furlong, Jonathan Lipnicki, and Jeffrey Tambor star in the one hour and 33-minute drama. The limited released film is rated R for violence, language, drugs, and nudity.

Jane Fonda, Catherine Keener, Chace Crawford, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Elizabeth Olsen star in the limited release Peace, Love & Misunderstanding. Distraught by her husband's petition for divorce, a conservative NYC lawyer (Keener) takes her two teenagers to live with her free-spirited hippie mother (Fonda). The polar opposites struggle to live under one roof. The comedic drama plays for one hour and 36 minutes. It's rated R for drugs and sex.

On the brink of her 30th birthday, a young woman is forced to find herself in Lola Versus. Three weeks before tying the knot, Lola ends up single for the first time in years and back in the NYC dating scene. With a milestone birthday on the horizon, she must come to terms with how her life has played out. The one hour and 28-minute dramatic comedy is playing in limited theaters. It's rated R for sex, language, and drugs.

Two thirty-something outcasts meet at a wedding and begin a relationship in Dark Horse. Despite being in his mid-thirties, Abe never seemed to grow up. He is a toy collector who lives with his parents and works for his father's company. When he meets Miranda, a black sheep herself, he feels like his life may have turned around. The unrated drama stars Justin Bartha, Selma Blair, Mia Farrow, Jordan Gelber, and Christopher Walken. It's one hour and 25 minutes long and playing in limited theaters.

Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Christina Ricci star in the limited released drama Bel Ami. Pattinson plays an 1890's playboy who attains wealth and power by sleeping with women of different social-economic status. The one hour and 42-minute film is rated R for language, sex, and nudity.

A man puts a classified ad in the newspaper looking for a partner to go back in time with in Safety Not Guaranteed. A few magazine reporters decide that the man would be a great subject for a story and go on a mission to find out more about him. The one hour and 24-minute comedy is rated R for language and sex. It's playing in NY, LA, and Seattle.

Just as in Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, next week's Adam Sandler film, That's My Boy, has an estranged parent reconnecting with a child. Hilarity ensues when his character brings his party lifestyle to his son's wedding. Also hitting theaters on June 15 is the rock 'n' roll musical Rock of Ages.
