Yvette Wilson, best known for her role in Moesha, has died at the age of 48.
TMZ reports that Wilson died of stage 4 cervical cancer Thursday.
According to People, the comedian/actress was also struggling with kidney disease at the time of her death. Along with Moesha, she also starred in The Parkers, a spinoff from Moesha, as well as House Party 2, House Party 3 and Friday.
Shar Jackson took to her Twitter to express her sorrow for the loss of her friend writing, “Oh god..... My heart is soooo unbelievably broken.” She later writes, “I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.. ...”

Wilson also starred in Don’t Be a Menace in South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood, Thea as well as Ganked.
She attended California’s San Jose State University and was a regular on Russell Simon’s Def Comedy Jam NewsOne reports.
