Love Canon is nothing short of an extremely interesting band, as what they do best is not often heard. They are a bluegrass band that covers popular 80’s tracks. “Africa”, “She Blinded Me With Science” and “The Boys of Summer” are just a few of the most recognizable covers from this bizarre group.
Just because the concept of 80’s bluegrass might seem a little out there does not mean that Love Canon isn’t onto something. If you are a fan of bluegrass folk tunes and 80’s pop, then why not give them a listen?
The ability to pull of the quirky-ness of 80’s pop using ukuleles, fiddles and no synthesizers is a feat in and of itself, let alone managing to make the tracks not only bearable but enjoyable.
In reality though, Love Canon’s uniqueness really shines through in live performances, simply because the personalities of these musicians make this group a group of stellar performers. On their website, each member has a bio made up of hilarious factoids, like that the Banjo player’s, Adam Larrabee, goal in life is to “seek out and quickly drink the most delicious pint of beer ever created.”
According to Love Canon, their sound will “make you laugh, it’ll make you dance, it’ll ‘blind you with science!'"
