With both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announcing they aren’t returning to American Idol and Randy Jackson’s future still up in the air, the search is on for replacements.
But could Anger Management star Charlie Sheen be one of those replacements?
When Sheen appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Tuesday, he explained that he started to get interested in the job when he heard executive producer Nigel Lythgoe throw his name into the realm of possibilities.
"It seems so out of the blue that it almost made perfect sense. I thought this could be a lot of fun," he told Seacrest, The Associated Press reports. "Seriously ... I'm genuinely interested. It's so different, it could be radical."
He did admit on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night that those involved in his new show on FX "would have to be into it,” but nonetheless, he’s interested.
Other names that have been discussed as possible judges are Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey.
