Open with Christopher looking at a tree that Jock and Ellie, Bobby and Ann and he and Elena carved their names into.
Shoot to John Ross on the phone with a lawyer trying to get the trust document Bobby and Christopher found overturned. Christopher arrives and hears. Once John Ross hangs up, Christopher gives him back the DVD of him and “Marta” having sex. John Ross then tells Christopher that he thinks he’s “letting his guard down.” Christopher then tells John Ross that “whatever your next move is, I hope you leave Elena out of it. Just because I’m fighting fair doesn’t mean I won’t fight. For Southfork…and for Elena.” Then, Christopher leaves.
Shoot to Elena’s place. Rebecca stops by with a gift basket to give Elena to thank her for taking her to the hospital. “I don’t expect you to forgive me for what I did to Christopher,” Rebecca says. “And I know it’s going to take more than a gift basket to get you there. But, I just hope…” Rebecca then starts to gag and has to throw up in Elena’s bathroom. When she’s done, Elena guesses that she’s pregnant and asks her how far along she is. “Nine weeks,” replies Rebecca. Elena then asks if she knew before she took her to the hospital and if she’s told Christopher. Rebecca replies that she didn’t know before then and that she’s tried to tell Christopher but he won’t answer his phone. Rebecca then moves to leave but apologizes to Elena for throwing up in her bathroom before she leaves.
Shoot to Ann sitting on a park bench in a park holding the locket Harris sent her. Then, Bobby calls her, asks her where she is and when she’ll be home so they can take a ride together before dinner. Ann lies to Bobby and tells him that she’s at Neiman Marcus and asks for a “rain check.” Bobby then tells her that he’ll see her at dinner. After they hang up, Bobby looks worried and we see that Ann watching a mother help her daughter tie her shoelaces and other kids play at a playground.
Shoot to the Omni Hotel as John Ross and Lucy [played by Charlene Tilton] are having lunch. John Ross sucks up to her by saying that she’s always been his “favorite aunt” but Lucy sees through it and asks him what it wants. He tells her that he wants to speak to “Uncle Gary.” He explains about the mineral rights situation and that the only way he can drill on Southfork is JR and Gary sign-off. “Southfork is sitting on two million barrels of the finest crude. With Ewing Oil back in the game, we all benefit.” Lucy then sarcastically tells John Ross that she’s sure his “daddy is real proud.” John Ross then tells Lucy that Gary will listen to her and “if you get him to let me drill on Southfork, I’m prepared to offer you a stake in Ewing Oil…a significant stake.”
Shoot to Elena trying to fix her truck. Christopher happens by and tries to help. Christopher then tries to talk to her about her relationship with John Ross, which she tells him to “respect.” “I do,” he replies. When she gives him a look, he replies, “I should.” He then apologizes for the things he said to her about implying that she’d steal the methane patent. Elena tells him that she knows he said those things because “you thought we were getting too close and you wanted to be fair to Rebecca.” Christopher then tells Elena that he “cares about you and I should have fought harder for you. When you didn’t show up for our wedding, instead of me acting like some hurt teenager, I should have gone after you.” Elena then tells Christopher that he needs to call Rebecca. When he asks her why she’s vague but insists that he should. When he asks her why she’s “harping on this,” Elena blurts out that Rebecca is pregnant. Then, she apologizes and says that it wasn’t her place to tell him, it was Rebecca’s. Christopher then leaves.
Shoot to Bobby and some ranch hands putting some horses in a truck. Then, a cop car drives up. Two officers get out of the car and tell Bobby that he’s under arrest for assaulting Harris.
Shoot to Bobby in an interrogation room telling his lawyer that the charges are “bullsh*t and all Ryland wants to do is get me involved in some stupid fight so he can get his hooks back into Ann.” Bobby’s lawyer then tells him that if Bobby apologizes, Harris will drop the charges. Bobby refuses to apologize though his lawyer urges him to do so. Bobby then asks his lawyer if he’s found proof that JR knew about the fraud and that the Del Sol Conservancy was never involved in the Southfork deal. His lawyer tells him that JR was “very careful.” Bobby’s lawyer then hands Bobby a file on JR’s PI, Bum. Bobby looks at the file and sees a mugshot of Bum.
Shoot to Christopher going to see Rebecca. She tells him that she figures that Elena told him that she was pregnant. Christopher then asks Rebecca where Tommy is. She tells him that she told him to leave. She then tells Christopher that they “need to talk about what we’re going to do.” Christopher then accuses her of lying about being pregnant, which she denies. He accuses her being pregnant as “just another ploy.” Rebecca then replies that she “thought you’d be more adult about this. Considering what your birth parents did to you. I guess not.” Then, without a word, Christopher leaves.”
Shoot to Christopher talking to Ann and Bobby about Rebecca’s pregnancy. “You think she’s lying?” Ann asks Christopher. “She’s lied about everything else,” he replies. Christopher then tells them that he made an appointment with her doctor to confirm and to get a paternity test. Bobby tells Christopher that he understands his feelings but asks him if he really thinks that Rebecca was unfaithful. Christopher insists that she’s a liar but then Ann stands up for her and says that Christopher is being “spiteful and cruel.” Bobby is shocked at Ann’s sudden outburst at Christopher. Then, Christopher leaves and Ann apologizes to Bobby. Bobby asks her if the flowers from Harris upset her, she asks him not to talk about it and insists that she’s fine. Bobby then tells Ann that he went to see Harris after she got the flowers. He adds that he “slapped him around a little and now he’s pressing charges.” He adds that he’ll drop the charges if he apologizes. Ann then asks Bobby why he did it and he replies, “Because he deserved it.” Ann then gets mad and leaves the room.
Shoot to John Ross and Elena at a bar. While holding hands, John Ross says, “I don’t know what I’d do without you, Elena. These days I feel like I’m walking on such shaky ground. But, when I’m with you, everything is still.” He then tells her after the “rigs get settled” he thinks they should take a trip. Then, John Ross sees “Marta” walk into the bar then out. John Ross then asks Elena to excuse him for a minute because he just remembered that he has to make a call for work. John Ross goes outside but “Marta” is gone. Then, he gets a call on his cell that Vicente, the man he made the oil deal with, wants to see him that evening. John Ross replies that he’s “busy and tell him that I’ll call him in the morning.” The man on the phone insists that John Ross come in an hour because Vicente wants a “progress report.”
Shoot to John Ross meeting with Vicente, who tells him that he’s heard that there is no oil in his pipeline. John Ross then asks for a few more days. Vicente then reminds John Ross that he owns the lien on Southfork. John Ross replies that he knows that Vicente “isn’t interested in the real estate business. You want oil. What if I were willing to make a trade for more time?” Vicente chuckles and asks, “For what?” “Information,” John Ross replies. “Marta Del Sol, we both know her as Veronica. She skimmed off the sale of Southfork, she lied to you about the purchase price and she pocketed the difference. I found out and she’s been a real pain in my backside. So, get your guys to spook her. Chase her out of town back to Vegas. Keep her the hell away from me… from us.” Vicente replies, “One more week Mr. Ewing. That’s it and if we don’t get what we were promised, we will take Southfork… and everything beneath it.”
Shoot to John Ross seeing Lucy leaving Bobby’s office. Lucy apologizes to John Ross then leaves. John Ross tells Bobby that he has to start drilling by the end of that week “or all hell is going to break loose.” “I’d really hoped you kids would have dug out of the hole this family dug. JR just dragging you down with him,” Bobby replies. John Ross tells Bobby that he won’t “let my father hang out to dry.” John Ross then begs Bobby to let him drill. Bobby refuses then tells John Ross when he gets the deed to Southfork back, “you and your daddy will never set foot on my property again.”
Shoot to John Ross going to Sue Ellen, who tells him that if he’d come to her first, she would have gone straight to Gary. John Ross insists that “Bobby and Gary won’t budge. I won’t be able to drill and this whole deal will go tits up.” Sue Ellen then asks John Ross if he’s heard from JR. He tells her that he has no clue where he is or how to reach him “and he wants it that way.” Sue Ellen then tells John Ross that the oil doesn’t have to be from Southfork. She then asks him about Elena’s plot on the Henderson property. John Ross refuses to ask Elena to “float me some barrels. I refuse to drag her into this mess. Elena is the one good thing I’ve got in my life. I want to keep it that way. I want her to stay safe.” Sue Ellen reminds him that he came to her for help. He then tells her that he’s changed his mind and leaves.
Shoot to JR in a limo telling Bum on his cell that a “100 year old trust isn’t going to hold up in court. If my boy doesn’t find a way to dissolve it, his mama will. I’ve stared down worse barrels, Bum.” Bum isn’t so sure. JR insists that John Ross “can handle himself. He’s a chip off the old block.” He then asks Bum if he got any info on Cliff Barnes right-hand man, Frank Ashkani. Bum then tells JR what Frank’s real name is, that Cliff found him on the streets and “took him in as his own. American education, college degree, fancy suits. Everything but the ‘heir to my fortune’ part.” “So, he feels cheated,” JR replies. “Wouldn’t you? He’s got an MBA and he’s still a freaking gopher,” replies Bum. “A cheated man is a dangerous man. Just ask my son,” JR replies.
Shoot to Christopher and Rebecca at the doctor getting what is needed for a paternity test. The doctor tells them that the results should be back later that afternoon. After the doctor and the nurse leave, Christopher tells Rebecca that the day he met her on the train, “I didn’t know where I was going. Elena had just stood me up, I was feeling sorry for myself and then you sat across from me. This beautiful woman. You kept prodding me and prodding me until I came out of my shell. I thought you were so sweet…and genuine.” Rebecca then tries to apologize but Christopher cuts her off saying that he’s “sorry. I’m the one who fell in love with a lie.” Rebecca then apologizes for what she said the day before, about his birth parents. “They abandoned you and you would never abandon anyone. I know you, Chris. Maybe better than anyone,” Rebecca says.
Shoot to Sue Ellen and Elena at a restaurant. Sue Ellen asks Elena to help John Ross but Elena asks her why he didn’t ask her himself. She tells her it’s because “all Ewing men have to believe that they have everything under control.” She adds that John Ross “is a good boy and has a good heart. And he doesn’t want you to feel like he’s taking advantage but his father’s investors are very impatient and very unreasonable and the barrels you give John Ross would only help to tide them over until John Ross can get his operation running.” Sue Ellen concludes by telling Elena that she wants John Ross to “succeed.” Elena tells her that she also wants John Ross to succeed and that she cares for John Ross, Christopher and Bobby. Sue Ellen replies, “When the day comes when you have to choose between your child and anybody else, I hope you choose wisely. And as the sole investor in your growing enterprise, I hope you always make the wise choice.” Then, Sue Ellen leaves while Elena thinks. We then see that “Marta” is sitting at a table nearby glowering at Elena.
Shoot to Elena calling John Ross. He’s about to ask Elena for help when “Marta” starts talking. John Ross then asks her how she has Elena’s phone and what she’s done to Elena. She doesn’t answer, tells him to meet her at a hotel room and tells him to not dare and call the police. John Ross threatens her not to hurt Elena but “Marta” hangs up before he can finish. John Ross then runs out of the room.
Shoot to John Ross going to the hotel room. “Marta” is there but Elena isn’t. “Marta” tells John Ross that his investors have been following her all day and that he has to help her because he got her involved in the first place. She adds that if he cares about Elena’s safety, then he’ll help her.
Shoot to Christopher going to see Elena. She tells him that she can’t find her phone. She then asks Christopher how he’s doing and that he shouldn’t have run off. Christopher then tells her that he still wants to be with her, that it doesn’t matter what the paternity test says and that he knows that “some part of you wants to be with me too.” She agrees that a part of her still wants to be with him but she can’t come between him and his child. Christopher insists that they can make it work but Elena insists that she’s happy with John Ross. “I guess timing’s everything, huh,” replies Christopher, who then leaves.
Shoot to Bobby meeting with Harris. Bobby begrudgingly apologizes and then Harris picks up the phone and has the charges against Bobby dropped. Then, Bobby explains that he isn’t taking back what he did. “You mess with my wife in any way, I will beat you into next Sunday,” Bobby adds. Harris then hands Bobby a file on Ann. Harris then tells Bobby that “there is a lot about Annie that you don’t know.”
Shoot to “Marta” telling John Ross that her accounts have been frozen “How much?” John Ross barks back. “Marta” then tells him that she doesn’t want his money, just for him to take responsibility. John Ross then asks her again where Elena is. When she doesn’t answer, he realizes that she just stole Elena’s phone and sees that “Marta” is taping them. “Marta” then calls John Ross “a spoiled boy.” John Ross then sees Elena’s phone and goes to grab it. “Marta” and John Ross struggle and she scratches his neck. Then, he leaves. After he leaves the hotel room, two large men head toward the room.
Shoot to Bobby coming in as Ann and Christopher are arguing over Rebecca. They don’t see him come in as Ann tells Christopher that he, Rebecca and their child can still have a happy life together. Bobby hides the envelope Harris gave him as Christopher tells Ann that maybe he doesn’t want a life with Rebecca. Then, Bobby shows himself as Christopher’s phone rings. It’s the doctor. When he hangs up, he tells Ann and Bobby that the doctor wouldn’t give him the paternity test results over the phone. He tells them that he has to go to the doctor’s office and Bobby tells him that he and Ann will come with him.
Shoot to John Ross leaving the hotel and seeing “Marta’s” dead body on top of a car, it looks like she jumped out the hotel window onto the street below. He leaves the scene but as he does, he passes by the couple who saw him get off the elevator in the hotel and head to “Marta’s” room.
Shoot to the doctor’s office. The doctor tells Christopher, Ann and Bobby that Christopher is the father of Rebecca’s baby and that she’s having twins. Christopher starts to cry.
Shoot to Rebecca having an ultrasound. Christopher comes into the room. Rebecca grabs his hand as they both look at the monitor at their twins. Then, Bobby and Ann walk in and see them holding hands. Christopher cries some more and lets go of Rebecca’s hand. Then, Ann starts to cry and leaves the room.
Shoot to Ann back at Southfork looking again at the locket Harris sent her. Bobby walks in and tells her that Harris dropped the charges against him. She tells Bobby that she’s sorry that he had to apologize to Harris. He tells her not to be sorry. He then shows her the envelope Harris gave him and that he told him that everything he needed to know about her was inside. He then tells her that he wants to know why she’s been so upset and that he “wishes you would trust me enough to tell me.” Bobby then tells Ann that he doesn’t need to open the envelope because “everything I need to know about you is right here.” He then touches her face tenderly. He then tells her that he knows that she’ll “work through it on your own but if you need me, I’m here.” He then throws the envelope into the burning fireplace and tells Ann that she can trust him. They embrace as Ann cries.
Shoot to the contents of the envelope burning, including pictures of Ann with a young child.
Shoot to John Ross going to Elena’s. When he sees her, he hugs her tight. She asks him what’s wrong and he responds by kissing her passionately. Elena then tells John Ross that Sue Ellen told him about the problems he’s been having with JR’s investors. She tells him that she wants to help though he protests. Then, cops arrive. Bobby appears and thinks it’s about Harris’ charges against him but the officers tell him that they are there for John Ross. Elena asks the officers what’s going on. The female officer then says there are witnesses who saw a man with matching John Ross’ car’s tags and his description fleeing the murder scene of Veronica Martinez. The male cop tells John Ross that he needs to answer some questions. John Ross goes with the officers as Elena, Ann and Bobby watch.
