By Gina DiFalco,

Mark Conseulos is the newest addition to FX’s American Horror Story.

The former All My Children star and husband of Live! With Kelly star Kelly Ripa will join the cast of the hit show for Season 2.

Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Consuelos would be joining the cast as a patient at the mental institution named Spivey.

In the new season of the show, Consuelos will join Jessica Lange, James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Zachary Quinto, Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, and Lizzie Brochere on screen.

According to People, Lange received a Golden Globe award for her work on American Horror Story, for her role as Constance Langdon.

American Horror Story is set in the ’60s and was created by Ryan Murphy, who’s also responsible for such television hits as Glee, Nip/Tuck and Popular.

In April, Murphy spoke about how Season 2 would be nothing like the first one.

“It's a completely different world and has nothing to do with season 1; there's not a mention of season 1,” he said, Aceshowbiz reports. “The second season is set in a completely different time period.”
