Just a day after she mentioned on Today that she thinks it is time for her to go, Jennifer Lopez confirmed to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest that she is leading the show.
On Seacrest’s radio show, Lopez tearfully confirmed that “The time has come” for her to leave.
Seacrest also tweeted the news, writing, “Just confirmed w/ @JLo she's made up her mind...will leave idol. :( gonna miss her.”
On the Today Show Thursday, Lopez mentioned that Idol was keeping her from other projects that she would like to do. She told Seacrest Friday that all these projects will keep her from devoting her time to Idol. among her several projects is a tour with Enrique Iglesias.
“I honestly feel like the time has come for me to doing the other things I do that I've kind of put on hold because I love Idol so much,” she tearfully told Seacrest.
Lopez’s announcement comes less than 24 hours after Steven Tyler confirmed that he is leaving as well. There are also rumors that Randy Jackson could be the next to leave.
