Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee’ debuts with Larry David

By Daniel S Levine,

Just a few weeks after the first promo for Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series was released, the first episode debuted on Thursday. His first guest is Larry David, the co-creator of their hit sitcom Seinfeld.

In the episode, titled “Larry Eats A Pancake,” the series lives up to its name. The Huffington Post reports that the two longtime friends take one of Seinfeld’s classic cars to a spot to get some coffee.

For 13 minutes, we get to watch the comics cover a wide range of topics on a coffee run in a 1953 VW Beetle. “It's a miracle we ever got any work done,” Seinfeld jokes. “Nobody can waste time like you and me.”

It certainly feels like a Seinfeld episode, as we see how much David enjoys his pancakes as they discuss their eating habits. They talk about just what it means to each of them to go “out of control” with food. In one part, David takes a bite from a pancake and after a long pause, he declares, “I can’t believe this is how people live...that people can do this all the time!”

The series was first announced back on July 5, with a promo video that promised coffee runs with Alec Baldwin, Michael Richards and Ricky Gervais. Each episode will be available on the show’s site and at the Crackle YouTube page.
